Hi, it’s me again! As some of you might remember from my previous topic, I’m setting up my own business in order to help others who wish to do the same. At present, I’m gathering as much research as I can in order to best judge how I should go about this and to get an idea of people’s needs and problems. At the moment, I really want to find out a bit more about how small businesses go about marketing themselves; given it can often be a lengthy, costly process where you tend to get out as much as you’re willing to put in (with a bit of luck!), it feels like it can often fall by the wayside in favour of other aspects of the day-to-day running of your business, especially with less ‘hands on deck’ in a small business, so to speak. What I’m really curious to know is, how do you go about marketing yourselves? And, for small companies, how much do you think is a reasonable amount to spend on marketing in a year? I am specifically looking for information from South London businesses, but at this stage any comments would be useful. Thanks for reading!
